If  you want to create a blog post, here’s a step-by-step process

  1. Buy a domain name for your blog.
  2. Purchase web hosting for your domain name.
  3. Install/Set up WordPress software on your website which is free of cost.
  4. Install an SSL certificate on your website.
  5. Install a theme for changing your blog design.
  6. Install some essential plugins & start writing your first blog post.

1. How to buy a domain name 

To write blog Domain name is necessary – Basically domain name will be the name of your blog or we can say the blog address where people will find your posts again and again. What is the domain name? Let’s take a few examples: For amazon, the domain name is www.amazon.com, for google domain name is  www.google.com etc. Similarly, when you will purchase your own domain name for your blog, your blog address will be something like this: www.your-blog-name.com.

Follow these instructions to purchase a domain name.

  1. First of all, go to the websites like GoDaddy/ Namecheap/name.com, etc. then you have to  login and sign up & search for an available domain name that is best suited for your website, select a domain name (try to buy a .com/.in extension domain) 
  2. click add to cart. to review your cart, click view cart.
  3. choose how many years of registration you want to purchase at their current price or choose plan according to your need, if you are beginner I’ll suggest to select 12 months plan after 12 months you have to renew your domain name it will costs you around approx. ₹500 /- for 1st year. here is a step-by-step process shown in the above images after purchasing domain name for your website you have to purchase web hosting for your domain name.                  

2. How to purchase web hosting for your domain name

To write blog you need Web hosting – Basically web hosting is the space for your entire blog content over the internet. We can say, the home of your blog address. all data of our website is stored in hosting servers, Without having web hosting, you will be unable to use your own domain based website. This is just like our computer hard drive. As all our pictures, files, songs, etc. get stores on the hard drive. But the blog hard drive (web hosting) is over the internet. The web hosting costs around ₹129-₹349 per month.

  1. first of all, you have to go to hosting provider websites like hostinger, Hostgator, etc, then you have to select a web hosting and then select a hosting plan according to your need and then click on add to cart (if you are a beginner I will suggest you choose single web hosting plan) after gaining some experience then you will upgrade your plan to premium web hosting 
  2. Choose a plan for how many years of hosting you will need for example select a 1-year plan i.e 12 months and then create an account and then click on submit secure payment and make a payment for it.
  3. once you purchased a domain and hosting you will get a welcome email from hostinger once you click on welcome to hostinger you will be redirected to hostinger which includes some steps you will skip these steps and then select a primary domain name and fill in your personal details and contact details and then choose an Asia server and click on finish setup

3. How to Install/Set up WordPress software on your website 

  • go to hostinger h-panel scroll down and find auto installer click on it and you will be redirected to the other screen and you will see WordPress software click on it, once you clicked you will see a screen in which you will have to enter your Username and password both are case-sensitive, it will be your login username and password for WordPress and you will also have to enter the website title after that click on install button it will take a few seconds to install. 
  • once it is installed successfully you will have to click on your domain name, if you see HELLO WORLD it means your site is live, it means whatever you have done so far is successful.

4. Install an SSL certificate on your website.

  • What is SSL certificate- Basically an SSL certificate is a digital certificate that authenticates a website’s identity and enables an encrypted connection. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, a security protocol that creates an encrypted link between a web server and a web browser.
  • Websites need SSL certificates to keep user data secure, verify ownership of the website, prevent attackers from creating a fake version of the site. SSL works by ensuring that any data transferred between users and websites, or between two systems, remains impossible to read 
  • for installing an SSL certificate go to hostinger h-panel scroll down and go to advanced you will see the SSL icon click on it and install it it will take a few seconds to activate and secure your site. once it is installed successfully, you will see HTTPS in front of your web address(https://domainname.com)

5. Installing a theme for  your blog

  • changing your blog’s design with the help of a theme, you can use any free theme for your blog. if you want to install a theme  you have to go to the WordPress dashboard see on the left side and go to Appearance and then click on themes and then click on add new and search for themes and then click on install and then activate

6. installing some essential plugins & start writing blog post

  • A plug-in (or plugin, add-in, add-on, or addon) is a software component that adds a specific feature to an existing computer program. if you want to add some functionality/features to your blog you will need plugins, for example, if you need analytics/SEO for your blog you need a plugin. if you want to install a plugin go to the WordPress dashboard see on the left side go to plugins and then click on add new then click install and activate.

Creating a new blog post

  • Login to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the “Posts” menu, Hit “Add New” option and start writing your new blog post 

     

 Write blog title and content

Write blog title and content for your blog, insert featured image it also allows you to set a specific featured image to your unique blog post., create Blog Post Categories WordPress allows you to create n number of blog post categories without any hassle. Just type the category name and hit the button, insert links, and insert images and do SEO of your blog post. after that click on publish.
after publishing, your blog post will live on your domain
